Get answers to common questions about Kids Loc Maintenance (Up to 10 Years Old).
Yes. Shampoo is included with Kids Loc Maintenance, but we ask parents to consider their child's temperament. If your child becomes upset with salon washing, please bring them freshly washed to help the appointment run smoothly and comfortably.
Appointments vary by hair length, loc thickness, and child cooperation. Typically sessions take 45 minutes to 90 minutes. We schedule extra time for young clients to avoid rushing and ensure gentle, careful maintenance.
Absolutely. If your child is calmer or more cooperative after washing at home, please come pre-washed. This helps shorten the appointment and makes the experience more pleasant for both the child and the stylist.
We use gentle, sulfate-free shampoos and lightweight moisturizing oils safe for children's scalps and locs. All products are selected to minimize irritation and buildup; please tell us about any allergies or sensitivities before the appointment.
Recommended frequency depends on hair growth and activity level, but typically every 4 to 8 weeks. Younger children with delicate roots may need gentler, less frequent sessions; we’ll customize a schedule during consultation.
Our stylists are trained to comfort and pause when needed. We’ll offer breaks, distractions, or reschedule if necessary. Please communicate any calming techniques that work at home so we can adapt to your child’s needs and ensure a positive experience.
